Bidwell Henderson are a legal services firm who offer professional administrative jobs in Derbyshire. They are an award winning firm who offer full training and support to their apprentices.     Director, Bidwell Henderson

    Rebecca has over 7 years’ experience as a Litigation Executive/Legal Executive. Over 10 years’ experience as a Law Costs Draftsman and over 8 years’ managerial experience. Rebecca began her legal career in 2002. Rebecca was employed as a Fee Earner for CS2 Lawyers (now Spencers Solicitors) where she gained experience in high value civil litigation cases. Rebecca developed a keen interest in costs and additionally accepted the role of Cost Negotiator for a team of Fee Earners. During this time Rebecca studied and qualified as a Legal Executive

    Rebecca worked for a leading firm of Law Costs Draftsmen (like legal accountants) as a Manager for a number of years.

    In 2014 she, with two colleagues, set up new company Bidwell Henderson Costs Consultants Ltd with a focus on quality of work at reasonable rates by using technology and flexible working to their advantage.

    The company has gone from a team of three to a team of fourty two in less than five years and turnover has doubled each year for the last three years.

    Rebecca focusses her time on recruitment and marketing. Rebecca is the direct supervisor of Chelsea Allcock who is our apprentice case study. Rebecca saw Chelsea’s commitment, determination and skill set and has been instrumental in securing Chelsea two promotions within her first year at Bidwell Henderson. Chelsea’s success has created new job opportunities for apprentices at Bidwell Henderson going forward.

    Business Development Assistant, Bidwell Henderson

    Chelsea has three A levels in Law, Psychology and Sociology.

    Having always had an interest in law she joined Bidwell Henderson in 2017 as an Administrator. Chelsea’s role included booking in files, reporting, arranging couriers, reception duties and assisting with meetings. Chelsea is undertaking a Level 3 Business and Administration Apprenticeship and has recently moved in to the business development arm of Bidwell Henderson. Chelsea assists Director Rebecca Bidwell with marketing, recruitment and general business growth. Chelsea’s role now includes arranging seminars, training and meetings. She manages the company’s social media platforms and assists with various aspects of recruitment. Chelsea is the Alfreton office’s health and safety officer and supervises work experience students.

    Role Summary

    Reporting to the General Manager, the Front of House Manager is responsible for the overall day-to-day operation of the reception / office department whilst ensuring all hotel, conference and events bookings are optimise and logged accordingly. The is a proactive role which requires the FOH to build strong relationships with the entire Mill Farm team.

    Main Duties (but not limited to)

    Oversee the day-to-day running of the reception/office department and devise a weekly departmental rota in line with business demands.

    Provide a high standard of customer service, by ensuring every customer is treated in a friendly, professional, and helpful manner and that all customer enquiries are dealt with in a positive way.

    Checking guests in and out of the hotel ensuring correct payments are taken as per the company’s standard of procedure.

    Action any closure of room type or property level in third party distribution channels including GDS provider.

    Action any amendments to Best Available Rate Strategy, third party distribution channels and GDS provider.

    To ensure all maintenance issues observed and reported are logged accordingly.

    To adhere to AFC Fylde sales procedure when selling tickets, memberships, and merchandise.

    To ensure policies, procedures, reporting systems, handovers, logs, and incident reports are reported and communicated accordingly.

    Coordinate all enquires for residential Christmas and New Year packages ensuring that all reservations adhere to defined policies regarding deposits and prepayments deadlines and all necessary correspondence is sent to guests.

    Ensure events and conferences are booked in properly and function sheets have been issued accordingly.

    About You

    Previous experience as a Hotel Front of House Manager or in a similar role.

    Competent in the use of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

    Excellent analytical skills.

    Good knowledge of third-party channels, GDS, and Property Managements Systems.

    Good problem solving and interpersonal skills.

    Highly knowledgeable of the hotel industry and tourism in the local area.
