The panel

Verity Pope

Student Recruitment Advisor, EY

My name’s Verity and I graduated from the University of Brunel in 2015 and since then have had roles within Financial Services – Technology, Marketing and Attraction, and now work at EY.

I work in the Student Recruitment Team as a Brand and Attraction advisor, and I’m based in London. I’ve been in the Graduate Recruitment space for 2 years now but have been at EY for just over 2 months. I wanted to join EY because of its inclusive culture as I’m passionate about diversity and inclusion. I’m proud of the work we’re striving to do to build a better working world for our clients and using the skills of our young workforce to do that.

A fun fact about me is that I’ve always been a huge David Bowie fan, and the Labyrinth is my favourite film!

Phoebe Hill

Assurance Business Apprentice, EY

My name is Phoebe Hill, I’m 18 and joined EY as a business apprentice in September last year. I work at the EY Southampton office, where the main service we provide to our clients is Assurance. Before joining I completed Maths, Economics and Geography A-levels at Oaklands Sixth Form College in Waterlooville. I really enjoy travelling and working at EY has given me the opportunity to save and make this happen. My favourite trip so far was to Peru where I did many activities such as helping at an orphanage and trekking to Machu Picchu, I hope to take many more equally as exciting trips.

Joining EY as opposed to going to university was a tough decision but the opportunity of joining a big 4 firm was too good to turn down. Throughout the application process I found that as a firm, EY was really friendly and helpful and I felt that they wanted me to do my best. It was this atmosphere that made me sure that this is the path I wanted to take. One factor that made EY such an attractive firm was that during the application processes they were not only focused on academics but the qualities and talents of each individual, which I think contributes to the working environment- everyone is willing to support you!

Daniel Bowley

Tax Business Apprentice, EY

My name’s Daniel, I’m 19 and work as a Tax apprentice in our Manchester office. I joined EY because I wanted to be a part of a global firm where I could build a career and develop a variety of different skills which I didn’t feel I would be able to in a smaller firm. I’m originally from Exeter and studied IB subjects of Chemistry, Physics, French, English, Maths and History.

Fun fact about me- I can play any brass instrument and I used to play trombone and trumpet (not at the same time!) in a jazz band. I’m now learning to play Saxophone (can you tell I like Jazz?!)

Rosie Muge

Digital Apprentice, EY

Following my A-level studies in Mathematics, English Literature and History, I decided that University was not the route I wanted to take. Pursuing my interest in technology, I applied for the Digital Apprenticeship at EY to study towards a degree in Digital and Technology Solutions. Having secured a position at EY, I now work with technology to deliver client projects alongside my studies and enjoys socialising with my team, as well as participating in clubs such as netball. My aim is to gain invaluable experience through working and completing my degree to the best my ability, to ensure success in my future career.”
