About Nestle

As the world’s largest food and beverage company we are driven by a simple aim: enhancing quality of life and contributing to a healthier future. To deliver on this, we serve with passion, with a spirit of excellence, offering products and services for all stages of life, every moment of the day, helping people care for themselves and their families. Our culture is based on our values rooted in respect: respect for ourselves, respect for others, respect for diversity and respect for the future.

We can trace our origin back to 1866, when the first European condensed milk factory was opened in Cham, Switzerland, by the Anglo-Swiss Condensed Milk Company. One year later, Henri Nestlé, a trained pharmacist, launched one of the world’s first prepared infant cereals ‘Farine lactée’ in Vevey, Switzerland.

Today, we employ around 328,000 people and have factories or operations in almost every country in the world. With our headquarters still based in the Swiss town of Vevey, we had sales of CHF 89.5 billion in 2016. Our portfolio covers almost every food and beverage category –offering products and services for all stages of life, every moment of the day, helping people care for themselves and their families.

Chartered Manager’s Degree Apprentice, Nestle

I have now been at Nestle for just over a year and a half and I am now in my second year of my degree apprenticeship. I am on the Commercial Managers’ Degree Apprenticeship scheme currently working in the Supply Chain function. I have previously had experience in HR and Sales, and this March I will be moving into Marketing. While at University, I study for a degree in Business Management and achieve Chartered Managers’ status.

When I first started this scheme, I moved to York from the midlands, where at A-Level I studied Business, Psychology and Maths. My job is very varied on a daily basis and you are always kept interested having the chance to work on projects for products that we all know and love.

Lauren Egan

Chartered Manager’s Degree Apprentice, Nestle

I have been at nestle for around a year an a half now and already I have had the opportunity to experience sales, supply chain and marketing. Throughout this experience I have gained crucial knowledge of nearly all of the businesses functions and the role they play within the business. For me, it has really shown me where my strengths lie and will massively help with choosing my final role on the scheme.

Amelia Randell

Finance Apprentice, Nestle

I joined the nestle finance apprenticeship straight after my A-levels, moving from the south up to York, and started my role in ODS (operations decisions support).  During my time in the team, I have supported factory finance teams at Tutbury and Dalston – which is where most of the coffee for nestle is made, as well as Buxton – our water plant. I have now been with nestle for 6 months, and I now own CPUK (Cereal partners – Bromborough and Staverton), which involves supporting them with reporting and costings.
