Apprenticeships LIVE is a live streamed event that broadcasts to thousands across the country wanting to find out more about apprenticeships and the exciting developments happening within different companies and sectors.

This live event focused on the apprenticeship programme at Specsavers. The live broadcast featured some apprentices and a recruiter who shared their stories and provided advice on the application process.

    National Apprenticeships Business Partner, Specsavers

    Guy’s been part of Specsavers for the last 12 years, most of which has been spent in the HR team as their Senior HR Business Partner.  Guy made the transition across to take over the apprenticeships team 4 years ago, helping to develop and deliver Specsavers own apprenticeships.  Specsavers now have 350 apprentices on their own programmes and 200 on externally delivered programmes.

    Guy’s proud of Specsavers approach to apprenticeships and receiving the CIPD’s Best Apprenticeship Programme award and overall winner, as well as the Princess Royal Training awards in 2018.

    Apprentice JDA WMS Functional Consultant, Specsavers

    I am now in my second year as a JDA Functional Consultant at Specsavers, within this time I have learnt a lot about my role within the organization as well as wider knowledge about the company and how I would fit in at other organisations.

    I have gained theoretical and practical knowledge and skill sets, through learning and working simultaneously. The apprenticeship has allowed me to continue with furthering education, gain a degree, as well as real world experience.
