Robin started writing novels in 2004 – having previously written songs and poetry. He co-wrote musical versions of The Gruffalo and Room on the Broom by Julia Donaldson. The Gruffalo was a massive hit (because of Julia’s brilliant book and Tall Stories fab production). It toured the UK and ended up on Broadway – opposite The Lion King. Robin co-wrote the Olivier nominated musical Room on the Broom, he then got the confidence to move from writing songs into writing fiction. The Spartapuss series and the World Book Day recommended graphic novel series – London Deep followed on from there.
Robin is the author of 14 books for that range from primary to lower secondary level, from Roobarb and Custard at reception to three acclaimed historical series – Spartapuss, Beowuff and The Olympuss Games. His graphic novel London Deep.
Robin has led writing workshops for Shakespeare’s Birthplace Trust and the Young Archaeologist Society. He is the founder of the Creative Writing Club website. In the last 8 years he’s visited 10 countries with Authors Abroad – and led their successful writers workshops – working with Y1-Y6 students.
