Environment Agency – Improving rivers, estuaries and coasts 

The Environment Agency want to include views of young people in our 2022 consultation. This is a chance for young people to have their voices heard.

In this broadcast, you will hear from experts from the Environment Agency and partner organisations facing and finding solutions to environmental challenges including flooding, climate change and the biodiversity crisis.

You will learn about how we must consider different environmental challenges and by working together developing solutions, these can be sustainable having a positive impact on people, places, and wildlife.

Watch this broadcast to understand how we are meeting challenges at sites from uphill of river sources to the sea: from tree planting in Cumbria and Lancashire, natural flood management at Stroud, beavers in East Anglia and urban partnerships in Manchester and London. You will also be introduced to a flood management project achieving ecology goals at the coast in the Severn estuary. The Environment Agency want to include young people in future plans for water. At the end of the broadcast, you can vote and share your thoughts. We are looking forward to hearing your ideas.

At the end of this broadcast, live voting aims to capture ideas young people have for improving their sites, streams, rivers, ponds, estuaries, and coasts from creating and restoring wildlife habitats to plastics. Votes will be submitted in an MS Teams survey as a schools response to inform the draft consultation on river basin management plans (RBMP) by 5pm
29 April 2022. This broadcast hope to inform schools about ways to improve their environment too.
