Halloween Live Read 2025
Join us LIVE on Wednesday 23rd October from 11am for this Halloween for a spook-tacular Live Read of The Ghost Train from the beloved Funnybones series – a frightfully fun tale perfect for little ghouls and boys!
Read aloud by real-life train driver Bessie Matthews, who’s not just steering freight across the country – she’s also driving change as a champion for women in the rail industry. Bessie lives her childhood dream driving a Class 66 from Southampton to Birmingham, and now she’s sharing another Great Rail Tale… this time, with skeletons, spooks, and ghostly giggles!
After the reading, Bessie will be on hand to answer your questions – whether they’re spine-tingling and spooky or you’re just curious about what it takes to become a train driver when you grow up!
