Students, teachers and parents of Blessed Robert Sutton Catholic Voluntary Academy can ask questions to employers on the LIVE CHAT next to the video player.
The school curriculum at Blessed Robert Sutton seeks to provide a balanced offer of academic and practical experiences whilst preparing students with the key skills required for them to function successfully beyond school. As such, we pay particular attention to developing literacy and numeracy skills across the curriculum as well as a rounded understanding of the world through RE, humanities and SAVE (Social Awareness and Values Education) time.
During the Lent (Spring) term in Year 9, students are able to choose their options choices for Key Stage 4. All students study English Language, English Literature, RE, Mathematics and Sciences (and core PE which is not examined). The most able scientists study each science separately however the majority study Science Trilogy, a double GCSE. Students then choose three optional subjects, one of which must be part of the government’s “Progress 8” basket of subjects which are promoted as being core to a students’ academic development. The Progress 8 subjects can be combined with themselves or with other optional subjects.
