Critchill School is an establishment which provides education for approximately 66 pupils from the age of 4 to 19 years, who are primarily drawn from the Mendip area. All our pupils have an education, health and care plan and we have a wide range of ages and abilities within our pupil population. We are pleased to announce that on the 1st June 2019 we joined the Midsomer Norton Schools Partnership Trust.
At Critchill School each pupil’s needs are carefully and individually evaluated, so that within the context of our well- developed and expanding curriculum, all of our pupils can aspire to reach exceptional standards. Our curriculum is ‘profoundly personalised’ and at all points in a young person’s education we are carefully ensuring that the curriculum pathway which we provide, will support them to make the next steps in their journey towards adulthood.
We believe that pupils should enjoy school and have fun whilst they learn. Our staff are committed to work as a team to provide the opportunity for a specialist education which addresses each pupil’s needs at their point of learning. This enables all of our young people to develop a full range of academic, functional, personal and independences kills.
High Standards are expected from pupils and staff at Critchill School. Our ‘Working Futures’ programme offers our young people a range of work placements as well as opportunities to consider possible careers with the support of our trained staff. We have begun this year to offer supported internships and this route into employment is very much at the heart of our whole school curriculum as well as our P16 curriculum pathways. Our vision is for our young people to gain the foundations that they need for a lifetime of meaningful paid employment.
