Resources first began trading as a husband and wife Partnership in 1990 and established itself mainly as a software solutions and IT Development specialist.
It provided expertise computer programming mainly for major transport networks which included a bus pass infrastructure to busy UK cities and baggage control processes to a major NE Airport. It also provided commercial training and web design and programming to commercial companies throughout the UK.
Tom Doyle joined the partnership in 2000 and began to broaden the spectrum of business opportunities to include Welfare to Work Programmes. The increased diversity which lead to further development of IT training from the foundation entry level to foundation degree candidates.
In 2006 Tom Doyle became sole proprietor of Resources. In 2008 Tom Doyle formed a limited company and installed a Business Development Director (David Watson) to broaden the business portfolio.
Over the years the company has developed into a major training provider in Tyne & Wear enabling young people and adults alike to achieve the qualifications required to enable them to gain employment and develop a successful career, whilst also helping employers with their training requirements for existing staff.
We are now looking to work with businesses and organisations in the area to develop relationships and help the whole region grow as we move from a very low period in industry to a more exciting time of growth and prosperity.
Here at Resources North East we specialise in Construction, IT, Business Administration and Customer Services. However we can work with our partners to deliver almost any apprentice programme with the potential to design the training to suit the business requirements.
We work with learners looking for Apprenticeship Training and also with companies looking to train their existing apprentices.
The Study Programme offers hands on experience in all of the courses offered with a recognised qualification on completion of the training.
Study Programmes run 4 days a week for 16 weeks. This is a comprehensive accredited training package delivered by industry professionals giving theoretical and practical skills. All programmes are delivered at our award winning training centres with the opportunity to work with local employers.
Training includes Occupational Skills, Employability Skills and Functional Skills where needed. On completion of the Study Programme learners can progress onto a Traineeship Programme or directly into an Apprenticeship.
Traineeships are designed to help young people who want to get an apprenticeship or job but don’t yet have appropriate skills or experience.
Traineeships are an ideal opportunity for young people, aged 16 to 24, who are motivated to get a job but lack the skills and experience that employers are looking for. Those who have been unsuccessful when applying for an apprenticeship or other job due to a lack of skills and experience are most likely be good candidates for a traineeship.
