Roles

Fantastic senior level Retail opportunities! Join the UK’s leading Airport group as we scale up our fast-paced teams for future growth opportunities. We are looking for Heads of Retail (Senior Leadership roles) and experienced Retail Category Managers.

Roles are available at Manchester and London Stansted airports (with travel across the group and to meet with partners)

These roles will form a part of the group retail team accountable for delivering in excess of £500m of retail sales and associated income for MAG. They will be involved in the relationship management of our key partners, negotiation, tendering and contracting of new opportunities and the development of our airports to accommodate future passenger growth.

The roles summarised:

Head of Retail (multiple Leadership level roles):

This is a senior level position within MAG, as such, you will be overseeing retailer pipeline and building category strategy for each airport/ terminal along with defining long-term organisational strategic growth ambitions and targets. You will have accountability for identifying new market opportunities, determining the optimal concession mix to maximise income, enhance guest experience and manage “key account” relationships/ contracts. This role isn’t just about optimising retail stores to maximise guest experience (although that is part of it) but focused around commercial delivery against large sales revenues and the ability to manage complex contractual arrangements. You will therefore have proven working knowledge of commercial business planning, tender processes and contract negotiation.

The Category Managers:

Reporting to the Heads of Retail, you will be responsible for creating and executing the Category plan to maximise the retail revenue and densities to deliver against the agreed business plan. You will be negotiating, tendering, managing and maximising partner contracts, tracking performance and KPIs to deliver business critical revenue and desired guest experience.

You

The successful individuals for either role, will have a strong personality, an intuitive understanding of the retail and / or hospitality markets, from operational excellence through to a deep understanding of the commercial drivers of individual unit performance and a passion for exceeding our customers’ expectations. The ability to form strong supportive and challenging relationships with partners is a key attribute. Candidates with Retail Leadership experience will be expected to have been part of tender processes and complex contractual arrangements.
