Support Worker, Maghull (Liverpool)

This is more than a job; it’s a career that supports people to live life to the full.

We are looking for a resilient, friendly and flexible Support Worker to join a team working alongside people with autism encouraging them to live as independently as possible and to be part of their local community. This role will include aspects of personal care. You will be required to work on a rota basis, including evenings, weekends and sleep in duties.

As a Support Worker you will promote positive health and well-being of the people that you support, enabling them to have a meaningful life and be involved in a range of activities chosen by the person supported including:

General housekeeping and cooking

Going for walks in all weathers

At Autism Initiatives we provide specialist services tailored to each individual which includes aspects of personal care. Experience is not essential, but a genuine passion to making a difference to the lives of people with autism, as well as a positive attitude, is key to being successful in this role.

Due to the needs of the service, a full driving licence is required.

In return, we will provide you with ongoing training and development, including supporting you to obtain your Diploma Level 2 in Care qualification. Given the nature of this role, successful applicants will be subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure, the cost of which will be met by Autism Initiatives.

This is a truly rewarding role, with the opportunity for you to develop your skills and knowledge and fulfil your career aspirations.

Throughout the COVID 19 pandemic we continue to prioritise the safety of our staff and people with autism; we are working together to make sure that we reduce risk of infection and support everybody’s wellbeing as we go through this challenging time.

At the moment, our interviews are being conducted remotely to minimise risk and ensure we are adhering to government guidelines. Autism Initiatives provide staff with appropriate PPE to ensure the safety of our staff and people with autism and reduce the risk of infection.

From October 2021 following Parliamentary approval and a subsequent 16 week grace period, anyone working in a CQC registered care home in England for residents requiring nursing or personal care, must have had 2 doses of a COVID-19 vaccine, unless they have a medical exemption.
