Project Manager (Manchester, East Midlands or Stansted)

oin MAG as we embark on an exciting period of transformation. We are shaping the future of our airports and have a diverse range of fascinating projects to get involved in. From terminal transformations to airfield modernisation, retail developments to sustainability projects, you will have the opportunity to work across all areas of our business and with stakeholders at all levels.

The purpose of this role is to support with safely and successfully delivering Capital Delivery Projects across the airport portfolio. The programme includes Terminals / Airfield and infrastructure.

You will adopt an ‘Airport as the customer’ approach to ensure minimal disruption to Airport operations, be accountable for a team of 20+ contractors and manage £1-5mil of capital projects.

Principle Accountabilities include:

Service

Accountable for delivery of projects within own Programme of works across group with clear focus on Cost, Schedule, and Quality and compliance with the MAG PDS.
Ensure appropriate resource is allocated to projects within Programme portfolio.
Plan, prioritise and manage multiple projects, ensuring delivery as promised with business case benefits realised.

Operational

Accountable for ensuring own Programme of projects are undertaken with minimal acceptable disruption to Airport operations.

Cost

Drives value and efficiency through robust contract management and identification of on project opportunities.
Accountable for achieving in year Capex expenditure for own portfolio of projects.
Support & maintain a high-performance culture.
Support team of project professionals.
Lead team of contractors and consultants.

Essential experience required to be successful in this role includes:

Desirable – University Degree and Chartered Engineer or Chartered Surveyor Status.
Organisation leadership, delivery through others & influencing without direct control.
Project development from explore through to handover.
Large and small greenfield and brownfield project delivery in mature assets.
Project development and delivery.
Strong stakeholder management skills: able to engage and communicate with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders and to effectively manage conflicting stakeholder demands.
Experienced managing 3rd party approvals (e.g., Planning, Property, Legal)
Proven commercial acumen – ability to contribute to building and presenting a credible CAPEX business case.
