Sea Freight Exports Clerk

Sea Freight Export Co-ordinator- Manchester

Due to increased global growth in the business, we are looking for two individuals to join our Euro Operations team as Sea Freight Export Co-ordinators in our Manchester Office of ALPI UK Ltd.
Your role will be extremely customer focused and will be heavily invested with the full sea freight cycle, from taking bookings, handling export documentation, completing export declarations, liaising with overseas offices
Salary: £20,000 – £30,000 per annum, Negotiable based on experience
Type: Permanent
Office Hours: Monday – Friday 08.30 hours – 17.30 hours – [one-hour unpaid lunch]

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Prepare export documents in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.
• Liaise with other offices in the UK, reporting any discrepancies or specific requirements
• Focus on improving customer satisfaction by delivering high quality services
• Communicate efficiently and effectively with internal and external customers, suppliers and
other offices, as required by operational SOPs
• Handling customer queries, Quotation’s pricing, up-selling, and prompt follow up
• Managing reports and providing clients with regular updates on costs, opportunities and
contract performance
• Ensure that the company operates within all agreed operational procedures, and within statutory
requirements including the provision and maintenance of a safe working environment.
• Liaise with overseas agents, sales and/or account management teams to ensure the smooth
on-boarding of new customers

Skills & Competency:
• Previous experience within Sea Freight is essential or in a similar role preferable (experience in freight at least one year)
• Previous experience working within export environment is preferable
• Quality organisational skills and ability to manage many tasks or projects at the same time.
• Ability to prioritise own workload and be able to work as part of a team
• Strong customer service orientation and an ability to communicate effectively and confidently and with an approachable nature
• Excellent organisational skills, strong interpersonal skills with the ability to problem solve
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Conversant in IT skills e.g., Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and CRM systems.
• Demonstrate working administrative background
• Must have an analytical skill, with a high level of attention to detail.
